JICS Football

The first game in school history was played last Friday against Trinity at Trinity. Our team played very strong defense and with only a few seconds left in the second quarter intercepted the ball at the 5 and ran a 95 yard touchdown to take a 18-0 lead. We scored again in the third and the final score was 24-8. It was a great first game and win!

We play one of the strongest teams in the state at home on Friday at 7:00, Laurens County. They beat the state champs in pre-season 20-0. Please come out and support the team this Friday! Direction are on the school website or call the school for information, Go Lions!

Welcome Back!

I am excited about the new school year! We have a wonderful staff and I know that the Lord will do great things this year at JICS! We have added AP History classes and our first football game in school history begins this week.

Tonight will be open house starting at 5:30 in the ark for dinner and we will meet at 6:30 in the sanctuary for the main meeting. Parents will be dismissed to homeroom around 7:00. You will receive schedules, locker information and overall class objectives.

If you have any questions concerning renweb or handbook issues, please contact the school for an appointment.

I am looking forward to a great year of academics, athletics and service. We will have many service projects throughout the year. As we prepare for the 2010-'11 school year, please know we desire to represent Jesus with character and Integrity in all areas.

End of the Year

It is hard to believe another year is ending at JICS! As I prepare for my third year at JICS, these are some things that will be added to our school next year:

Block Scheduling
AP classes
Internship program
ACT/SAT Prep Class

Graduation went very well with seniors Matt Crepas and Kaitlyn Gochnauer as the top two seniors and their speeches were a blessing and an encouragement to the school. Tom Gochnauer gave an anointed speech and a challenge to the senior class. It was my hope that we truly honored and blessed the seniors and their families.

We will have math enrichment classes this summer. Please call the school if you are interested. We are also taking registration for basketball camp. We also have a summer camp that is taking applications and seats are filling quickly. Please see Mrs. June if you are interested in your child attending.

I know that the Lord has great things in store for JICS and I am honored to partner with you next year!

Have a great summer!

Graduation

I am looking forward to my second graduation at JICS. Last year we had an awesome class with many changes in graduation. We will continue to make graduation special and we are excited about this years speaker, Tim Gochnauer. We will also continue the tradition of the roses and the turning of the tassel.

I am excited about the new families who are coming to JICS and the new staff. We will be adding block scheduling and also AP classes. This is a modified block schedule and they will take classes on a A and B schedule weekly. My desire is to help encourage more time for group activity, one on one instruction and time to complete homework in class. I want students to be able to spend quality time at home with their families and finish school work at school.

It has been and it will continue to be my commitment to you to develop this school academically and spiritually. I know the Lord has great things in store for JICS and I am honored to partner with you.

I pray daily for all of the students, parents and faculty and I know that the Lord will prosper and bless this ministry. There are times we all struggle but as a family we can encourage one another and stand together in this great calling.

In His Service,

Dr. Rick Johnson

Easter

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Have a great Easter!
